The Island Gang-Raft Island Beach

"Raft Island beach was a favorite hangout, particularly when the weather was good. Along with the park-like environment, the beach had a pier leading to a floating dock. The dock, while important to boaters, was equally important to non-boaters. With no public slips, boaters needed the dock to load passengers and gear. The dock was also the perfect place to lie in the warm sun after a cold swim. The pier leading to the dock and the adjacent bridge, which connected Raft Island to the mainland, were perfect jumping platforms."
