It was two minutes to 1:00 a.m. when Grisham hit the southwest corner of Dead Man’s. Well concealed below the water’s surface, McGovney dropped and headed for shore. Grisham rounded the end of the island, coming into view of the beach in time to see the lookout repelling down the face of the cliff. “I’ve got our lookout,” he reported, “He’s repelling the cliff.
