The Island Gang Characters

Fact

The majority of the personalities portrayed in The Island Gang are real characters from the author’s life.

The Author’s youngest son, Sean, spent many a summer running around Raft Island with a group of boys referred to as the Island Boys. Several of these boys were the impetus for The Island Gang characters.

Dead Man’s Island sits less than a mile off of Raft Island out in Henderson Bay near Gig Harbor, Washington.

The layout of the Puget Sound as described in The Island Gang is accurate.

Fiction

The Sedgwick, Crystal Cove, and Pearl Point are fictional locations.

Much to The Island Boys' chagrin, they did not have a "Little Imp" or “Lost Change” - the boat that plays a key role in the unfolding of the Legend of Crystal Cove.
